Right-click option to open links in a browser.

Hi Albert,

It'd be nice to be able to open links in a browser via the right-click menu. For example, the sample code above has a link that I highlighted, then right-clicked, hoping to open it in Chrome (or my default IE), but the option doesn't exist.

Thanks.

Thanks Rick. Good suggestion. I'll see what I can do.

Hi Rick, I worked on this yesterday and today. You should now be able to right-click on http and https links in the editor and Message Window and have an 'Open Link' menu option at the top of the popup menu. If you'd like to try this then please re-download CSE HTML Validator Standard and you should get v17.0101 or later which has this new feature. Of course, if you do, then please let me know how it works.

I think it's a great addition... but it only works on absolute http and https links.

Hi Albert.

Nice turn-around. Right-click, open link works on any link and I don't have to highlight the link first.

The only thing I noticed is I no longer see the mouse-over message to use Ctrl + click for the links in the message window.

Great. Sounds like it's working as expected.

I'm not sure why that is. That's basically the components "natural behavior" and I didn't do anything that was targeted to change that.

I restarted and same behavior. I thought Ctrl + Click worked before. Not now.

LOL. I ctrl-clicked several times on two different links in the message window and now I have 6 blinking cursors in the message window. = )

I'm not sure if all those blinking cursors are a bug or a feature. :) It might be related to some feature of that editor.

I was able to Ctrl+Click on a link to open the link in the Message Window. The Ctrl+Click behavior may not be as refined as it should be but it works... however, it's probably easier to just right-click and use the new 'Open Link' option.
