Re: Batch Wizard: registry TargetListLimitMaximum not applied?

Fantastic! It works. Changes in two lines:
TargetListLimit=50000
TargetListLimitMaximum=50000

With little advance due to time shift: Merry Xmas to you and your family!
(Xmas under curfew due to Covid-19 in my case :-)).

Re: Bad links reported by Link checker though no error

Question: why does one get 200 OK status with such socket error 10053? If socket error, one cannot even establish connection to get status 200 OK, isn't it? I found this link that explains this error in a more understandable way: https://www.chilkatsoft.com/p/p_299.asp So I am assuming the connecti...

Re: Batch Wizard: registry TargetListLimitMaximum not applied?

Hello, The limit change in registry then in Batch Wizard works well. But since now I use the portable mode of CSS HTML Validator (CHV) https://www.htmlvalidator.com/CSS-HTML-Forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1134 , I am now limited to 30000 instead, although the limit of 50000 is still set in regsitry. ...

Re: Bad links reported by Link checker though no error

Question: why does one get 200 OK status with such socket error 10053? If socket error, one cannot even establish connection to get status 200 OK, isn't it? I am not sure. This is what the component I am using is reporting. It's possible the connection is being established but it is being aborted b...

Re: Respect "rel=nofollow"

Problem resolved, thanks to Admin: "For v21+, you should use chvoptions.ini instead of cseoptions.ini." Now in Help/About CSS HTML Validator, the program does indicate that it is running in portable from folder (user portable folder). No more trace of CHV in Windows Program Files, or in Us...

Re: Bad links reported by Link checker though no error

... I don't think it makes sense not to check/validate rel="nofollow" links by default, because rel="nofollow" only tells search engines to ignore the link. People can still go to the link and view the page, and if people can go to the link and view it, then most web developers ...

Re: Bad links reported by Link checker though no error

... Yes, those sound like good things to try. If you are OK with increasing the validation time then I would start with reducing the 'Max simultaneous link checks' to 10 (the default should be 15). That option is in the 'Link Checking' page of the Validator Engine Options . You might as well also s...

Re: Bad links reported by Link checker though no error

OK mystery revealed. I run with new build v21.0001 from admin, and got same bad links reported, but now with more details in Status column. Socket error 10053 (winsock). This explains the difference between production and test server: production server is much more powerful. Solutions? - reducing nu...

Re: Respect "rel=nofollow"

In fact, the Roaming directory is created (c:\Users\(user)\AppData\Roaming\AI Internet Solutions\CSS HTML Validator\21\). From it, I delete the configuration file htmlvalV210.cfg, and set its location to my portable directory. It seems OK now. Update: I did not have the empty cseoptions.ini file, so...

Re: Respect "rel=nofollow"

The problem I got probably due to that I do not do a full uninstall of CSS HTML Validator (once the popup asked for full uninstall or not). This time I do full uninstall of previous v21, then install new v21.01, then copy all the installed directories to a clean new portable directory. Then I make a...

Re: Respect "rel=nofollow"

Hello, I love portable applications so after installing CSS HTML validator, I copied all the installed directory to my portable one, then uninstall CSS HTML validator. Then I run CSS HTML validator as "portable" application. It seems that CSS HTML Validator is not 100% portable. Is there a...

Re: Bad links reported by Link checker though no error

Effectively, I did not restart the Batch Wizard + Editor. So I restarted it and do Run 2 again. The number of bad links is different now. So probably it is something related to the server as you suspected. My test server is a VMware virtual machine 1 GB RAM running CentOS 7 on my laptop i5 10th gene...

Re: Bad links reported by Link checker though no error

There are good news and bad news. The good news is that as expected, Run 1 did have false bad links. The bad news is that Run 2 gave same result as Run 1, instead of good result as expected. In summary, this is still good news since I can reproduce the problem. For the same server, same environment,...
