Re: Test how mobile-friendly your site is.

I think the Responsive Design Mode in Firefox is even better than Chrome's equivalent. Ctrl+Shft+M launches it (as well as having a button to lauch it from the Inspector dialog).

Grid additions to CSS definitiom file

I've added the new CSS Grid features to a new CSS.def file which you can add to your install of TS5. You should add it to this folder (assuming you have the default install):

C:\Program Files (x86)\TopStyle 5\CSSDefs

Re: problem upgrading to Version

Have you tried manually replacing the TopStyle.exe file? That's all the install program is doing. Try renaming the existing TopStyle.exe to TopStyle.old (just as a backup) and then copy the new version into the same folder. If you get a system message saying that program is still running, open Task ...

TopStyle is no longer being supported, so this will never happen.

Re: TopStyle Support and Development Ending

This really is bad news! :(

Now I suppose I'll have to look again at the opposition:

Webuilder ($)
CoffeCup HTML Editor ($)
Notepad++ (free)
Brackets (free)

There are others, but these seem to be the best.

Bring back HomeSite is all I can say.

Re: Locking panels

I don't think you can lock the panels, but you can save a layout which means you can easily revert to a particular scheme.

Re: Syncing Local Files With Server...

You need to setup an FTP connection for that server and then upload the file via FTP (assuming you're editing a local copy of the file). In the Help files see: Using the FTP Explorer Panel Using FTP (File Transfer Protocol) editing If you're used to DW please note that TopStyle will only upload the ...

Re: PDF of TopStyle Help? + Interface Description?

I don't think the TS help files exist in PDF format, just Windows help files. You should be able to access them via the Help menu. If you do want them in PDF format you can convert .CHM files to .PDF via an online service such as Zamzar . You'll find the help file here (if you used the install defau...

Re: TopStyle 5.0 Freezes - (Not Responding)

Do you have the Output > Preview window open? This seems to cause a lot of the freeze problems, especially if IE is used as the internal browser. Using Chrome seems a bit better, but it often seems to steal focus from the Edit window.

Re: Unable to retain focus with TopStyle

Does this only happen when you have the Preview window open? If so you could try closing that window and only previewing in an external browser. This is what I'm currently doing as a workaround until a solution is found.

Re: reopen shows no files

What number do you have in Options > User Interface > Maximum number of files in the list of recently used files: xx

The default is 15. If you have 0 set then nothing will show.

Re: Start and end tag highlight?

CTRL+M = Find Matching Tag or Delimiter
CTRL+ALT+M = Select Matching Tag or Delimiter
(both in the Edit menu)

You can also use the View > Show HTML Structure Panel and then from there click on the tag/item you want it will select from the beginning to the end of the tag.

Re: Some Feature Requests...

You can Find and Replace blocks of code in TopStyle. You need to use:

Edit > Find/Replace in Files (Ctrl+Shft+F)

There is some support for regex or wildcards and search rules can be saved. It's fully documented in the help files.

I've sent a new CSS3 def file which includes the new units to Stefan. It should be included in the next update.
