iframe sandbox with no value

I have this iframe element: <iframe sandbox="" class="ic-iframe" title="Check Social Share Images" tabindex="-1" src="https://example.com"></iframe> The validator reports: The "sandbox" attribute for this "iframe" element (with class="lv-iframe") has an empty or missing value. The expected value is ...

Re: Validator 2021: Some unrecognized CSS properties

Aha! There...that did the trick. And now it's validating without throwing any of those errors. Many thanks!

Re: Validator 2021: Some unrecognized CSS properties

I'm not sure...how would I verify this? Is there a screen shot I could share, etc?

Re: Validator 2021: Some unrecognized CSS properties

Hi Albert, I've downloaded the update twice, and I'm now running version 20.04. The other errors seem to be fixed, but it's still throwing an error on 'aspect-ratio:unset'. Here is the relevant style block, in case this helps in debugging: <style>@font-face{font-family:Cabin;font-display:swap;font-s...

Validator 2021: Some unrecognized CSS properties

Thanks for the new version of the validator, which I upgraded to today. There are three CSS settings that it seems not to recognize: aspect-ratio (as a CSS property setting), a CSS variable as a linear-gradient stop-list item, and the minmax() function in CSS grid. The w3 validator (https://validato...

font-stretch percentage values rejected by Validator

I'm using the Inconsolata Google font retrieved here: https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Inconsolata:400 This retrieves 3 @fontface blocks, each like this: @font-face { font-family: 'Inconsolata'; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; font-stretch: 100%; src: url(https://fonts.gstatic.com/s/inc...

Re: Self-closing PATH tags

When researching it, I first checked MDN and saw the examples you cited, and wouldn't have gone further. But then I saw what Chrome was doing under the hood, and it gave me pause. I wonder why Chrome would convert instances of <path /> to <path></path>? According to the quote at the end of your resp...

Self-closing PATH tags

Sometimes, just for kicks, I'll open a site in IE just to see what kind of errors it will throw. I recently did that on a page with an SVG element, and the error it threw had me going down rabbit holes to see what was truth and what was otherwise. The code in question was this: <svg xmlns="http://ww...

Re: Unexpected error

Excellent. I understand full well that my specific issue opened up a can of worms, in that many similar cases might need safeguarding with longer warnings. It's an aspect of CSS parsing that I did not know about previously. Many thanks!

Unexpected error

I used the :focus-within pseudo-class as one selector in a list of selectors, like this: .body a:focus-within, .body a:active { background-color: transparent; } The Validator helpfully inform me that it is a CSS4 pseudo-class, and warns that some browsers may not support it. Fine and good. But the s...

lazyloading attributes coming to Chrome

Starting in Chrome 75 (and currently available in Chrome Canary under a flag), the browser will handle lazyloading of images and iframes, with "lazy", "eager", and "auto" values for a "loading" attribute. Whatwg seems on track to standardize it, so it looks like yet another thing to validate. Human ...
