Thanks for looking into this. I apologize that I haven't gotten back to you with a scenario to recreate the trailing space problem. I promise to do that as soon as I get a few minutes. In the meantime, I have a question and two comments. The question has to do with the forthcoming option to remove t...

It's the radio and check box buttons where it sure would be handy if it could remember the settings. I would prefer that it not remember the actual find/replace text. Much thanks for looking into this.

If such an option existed, I would probably use it. So yes, it would be helpful. However, I'm finding that every time I open a file, many of the lines in the file seem to be acquiring trailing white space that I know for a fact wasn't there before and that I know for a fact I didn't put there. Where...

Persistence of Find/Replace Settings

In versions previous to V9, CSE Validator remembered the Find/Replace settings between uses of the program. V9 seems to revert to the defaults every time I start the program. Is there a way to get V9 to remember my Find/Replace options? The present behavior is annoying because I seldom use the defau...

Blanks at end of lines

Versions previous to V9 had an option to get rid of blanks at the end of lines. The option was controlled by a check box in the Editor 2 tab of the Editor options. I can't find the option in V9. Could you point me to it? The option seem to affect both the content of saved files, and also the behavio...

Replace with Regular Expressions Creates Loop

I'm not sure if I have encountered a bug, or if I simply don't yet understand the improvements that V9 has to offer in processing regular expressions. In addition to using the CSE editor for editing HTML, I use it as sort of a "super smart Notepad" for editing txt files. In that role, some...

Turning Off Integrated Browser

I just upgraded to V9 Pro. Looks like lots of new goodies. However, I prefer not to use the integrated browser, and I can't figure out how to turn it off. A WB window keeps popping up, and I have a "browser" tab that I can't get rid of. Any help appreciated.

Very interesting. As I said, I am on 8.0. I had long since added the file associations as you suggested. But what I was doing subsequently was just to double click on the file in Windows Explorer to get the hacked file string. When I actually right click and choose Edit with CSE HTML Validator Std/P...

Windows 8.3 Filename Convention

I just upgraded from 7.x Professional to 8.x Professional (8.0130 to be specific). A problem from all previous versions is still there. When I open files from within CSE HTML Validator, all is well. But when I open them from outside the program, the filename string is hacked into the old Windows 8.3...

I have decided to go with the template approach. It seems very elegant. Originally, I planned to reply that the template approach handled 95% of what I wanted but not 100%. That's because the template is not run automatically when the file is opened, and I have to run it manually. But it's not uncom...

Date of Last Change

The date of last change is obviously available in the directory entry for any file, including HTML files. This is a shot in the dark, but is there any automated way to include this information in the file itself so that it's available in the screen when looking at the page from the browser? I have i...

First, I may not have been totally clear in my original explanation. I'm not really talking about the Tidy Tool. I'm talking about the Enable HTML Tidy validator option. I'm sure that the Enable HTML Tidy validator option is a part of the same package as the Tidy Tool. Second, I can recreate the pro...

The first suggestion seems not to be very useful. It just moves the navigation of folder structures from CSE HTML Validator to Windows Explorer. If anything, I think there's a little less pointing and clicking and such when doing it from within CSE HTML Validator than there is within Windows Explore...

CSE from within IE

I'm piggybacking on the comment that "the other way is too much effort". I assume by the "other way" it is meant invoking a free standing copy of CSE not invoked from within IE, and then doing a File...Open from within CSE. I always do it the "hard way", invoking a free...

CSE Help and CSE Links Stealing a Browser Window

If while in CSE, I click on Help or Links and then choose an option, the program opens a browser and goes to a particular URL. Except that if there is a browser open, it steals the browser window, thereby destroying (albeit temporarily) my ability to see what was in the original window. Is there a C...
