Re: can't quit

I'm getting this same issue still with v 11 - it happens when I have had the Batch Wizard open, not sure if it does otherwise. html val batch error.jpg I had this in earlier versions, though I think I get fewer error pop-ups before Windows steps in now, 3 this time whereas previously they seemed to ...

An irritating development!

I used to use Validator to check php code I was working on by viewing the source in TextPad and using its integration with HTML Validator to check it. The latest version of Opera (9.5) has dropped the use of file extensions for cached files, which means I now have to save the cached file with an ext...

tidy config args format

I'm not sure how to format a new HTML Tidy profile. I've tried
<profile name="UTF-8" args="char-encoding utf8" hint="Set for UTF-8 input and output." />
but it doesn't like it, giving the message
[HTML Tidy] Can't open "char-encoding:"
so I obviously don't know what I am doing!

A small bug?

Hi Albert, When link checking http://www.puerto-de-mogan.com/ using Batch Wizard (only doing a link check) the results summary page reports a page with a bad link, but the bad link is missed off the detailed report for the page itself, which ends with "21 links extracted; 1 bad, 0 warning, 19 good, ...

Hi Albert,

It's working fine now! I have two bacth files set up, one checks files on my local copy and the other on the server - the local one hasn't got the exclusion set. I must have changed from one to the other while trying different settings and not noticed.

Thanks for checking.

Another exclusion:

v8.0101 I'm trying to exclude a javascript obfuscation of a mailto from link checking in batch wizard. The link rejected is mailto:"+_l+_s+" . I've tried putting it in Do not check these links and now it doesn't list it in each page's list of bad links, but it is still reprting a bad link on the pag...

Using CSE Pro with TextPad

Since upgrading to 7.01, when I use CSE as a tool in Textpad to check css files, Textpad's command results window displays the results twice!
If I use CSE as the editor it behaves as it should. My TP installation hasn't changed as far as I know

Thanks, it works. You're right, in this case I'm just using it to check links.

The validator says that without the final semi-colon after the colon it is an incomplete URL, so I'm using href="javascript:;"

Batch Wizard - excluding links from checking

I have been trying to exclude links of the format a href="javascript;" from checked links by putting javascript or *javascript or javascript* in the "Do not process targets matching these strings" field, but they are still being checked and reported as bad links (no doubt they are  ). Does thi...
