Re: Bad links reported by Link checker though no error

Regarding the 10053 error again, when the status code is 200... I'm going to ignore this error in the link checker when the status code is 200. I think the most likely cause is the server responding to the request and then immediately terminating the connection, so if the server responded that the l...

Re: Batch Wizard: registry TargetListLimitMaximum not applied?

Hello, The limit change in registry then in Batch Wizard works well. But since now I use the portable mode of CSS HTML Validator (CHV) https://www.htmlvalidator.com/CSS-HTML-Forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1134 , I am now limited to 30000 instead, although the limit of 50000 is still set in regsitry....

Re: Bad links reported by Link checker though no error

I make short test without any firewall, error 10053 still occured. OK, thanks for checking. Ignoring completely 10053 probably is not recommended, since we lose information (presence of these cases, number of occurrences). I agree. I was only considering ignoring 10053 errors in specific cases. My ...

Re: Bad links reported by Link checker though no error

OK I would suggest to have easier choice from user with an option to enable/disable rel="nofollow" without requiring to know about user function, script etc... Idem for the rel="canonical". User should have an easy choice for behaviour on rel="canonical", validate or n...

Re: Bad links reported by Link checker though no error

Question: why does one get 200 OK status with such socket error 10053? If socket error, one cannot even establish connection to get status 200 OK, isn't it? I found this link that explains this error in a more understandable way: https://www.chilkatsoft.com/p/p_299.asp So I am assuming the connecti...

Re: Bad links reported by Link checker though no error

Theory: Using trial after settigngs "Wait time between checks" value, then stopping after few percent done: if no bad links reported, you can decrease the wait time between checks. So you wil reach ater several trials the sweet spot where no bad links are reported (and also minimum test d...

Re: Respect "rel=nofollow"

Problem resolved, thanks to Admin: "For v21+, you should use chvoptions.ini instead of cseoptions.ini." Now in Help/About CSS HTML Validator, the program does indicate that it is running in portable from folder (user portable folder). No more trace of CHV in Windows Program Files, or in U...

Re: Respect "rel=nofollow"

Thank you. That is strange. I can't find a problem/bug in the code.

Can you go to 'Help > Copy Program Info to Clipboard' and then paste in a reply what CSS HTML Validator copies to the clipboard?

Re: Bad links reported by Link checker though no error

OK mystery revealed. I run with new build v21.0001 from admin, and got same bad links reported, but now with more details in Status column. Socket error 10053 (winsock). This explains the difference between production and test server: production server is much more powerful. It's great that this sh...

Re: Respect "rel=nofollow"

Update: I did not have the empty cseoptions.ini file, so I created it, restart the program. But in Help/About there is no mention of Portable mode. Hello, Can you check again? If it's running in portable mode then the 'About' message should say: Running in portable mode from folder "(folder)&q...

Re: Respect "rel=nofollow"

Hello, I love portable applications so after installing CSS HTML validator, I copied all the installed directory to my portable one, then uninstall CSS HTML validator. Then I run CSS HTML validator as "portable" application. It seems that CSS HTML Validator is not 100% portable. Is there ...

First quick report with v21 version and the user scripts for rel="nofollow" and rel="canonical" provided by admin. 1) I have several CSS Html validator messages at start: External CSS file "C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\AI Internet Solutions\CSS HTML Validator\21\batchrepor...

Re: Is rel="canonical" supported?

I've incorporated the user function I posted earlier in this thread into the next update of CSS HTML Validator . It won't abort the validation or generate a message for documents with canonical URLs but it will automatically exclude them from Batch Wizard duplicate page title and duplicate meta desc...

Re: Bad links reported by Link checker though no error

I observed that Link checker issues about 100+ req/s on the production server. If it's too much this can be adjusted with the settings in the 'Link Checking' page in the Validator Engine Options . Here is more information: https://www.htmlvalidator.com/current/docs/index.html?engine_link_checking_n...
