Insert date and/or time

Insert date and/or time
A keyboard shortcut to insert today's date and/or time would be useful. If a keyboard shortcut is not feasible, an item on the right-click menu would be good. And if that is not possible, an item on the regular menu (perhaps under quick options?) would be better than nothing.
And it would be really good to have a choice of what is inserted (for example, date vs. date and time). See Homesite, where it was on the right-click menu and gave four choices.

Re: Insert date and/or time
Hi JoOwl,
What are those 4 choices in HomeSite? I'd be happy to duplicate that functionality.
Thanks, Stefan.

Re: Insert date and/or time
Looking at this I think they're taken from system settings and are:
1) Short Date
2) Long Date
3) Short date time
4) Long date time.
UTC would also be valuable to some people.

Examples of the four possibilities are, actually:

Monday, August 17, 2009

Hi JoOwl,
If you change the system definitions you can get something different. So some machines will have examples that are unlike those on your system or mine.

Re: Insert date and/or time
I have added this to the editor context menu. To be included with 4.0.0.64.
Thanks, Stefan.

Re: Insert date and/or time
By default, there's no keyboard shortcut assigned to them, but you can easily accomplish this yourself via Options > Keyboard Shortcuts (Ctrl+F8)

Re: Insert date and/or time
If these new "date and time" (sub)menus do not seem to appear in 4.0.0.64, you might have customized your editor context menu. In that case, you might want to reset your editor context menu (Options > Reset Editor Menu).
Re: Insert date and/or time
MIkeGale is quite correct and I should have said that it would vary with machine settings.
Stefan, I have looked carefully at Keyboard Shortcuts in version 063 and not found insert date/time - do you mean it will be available in 064? If so, I will be looking for it.
