includes

Post by roedygr »

Some of my files I call "includes". They are fragments of HTML without <html><body>. When I try to validate them I get messages about missing headers and footers.
Ways to deal with this:
1. don't validate
2. put some magic comment fore and aft.
3. change the </body> missing error status when validating them.
Other ideas?

Hello,

In the next update, I've changed it so that when the "autorage feature" is used, the messages you are referring to should not be generated.

That is, if you see a message like this when checking a document fragment:
Not a complete document. Assuming this HTML belongs in a <html><body> ... </body></html> section.

Then CSE HTML Validator will not generate the messages about the omitted "body" and "html" end tags because it will assume they are not suppose to be in the fragment in the first place.
