Structural outline?

Post by TomHTML »

Does the Validator include a structural outline generator? See the attached screenshot, taken from the output of https://validator.w3.org/nu/, which I find indispensable. At that site, you check the "outline" checkbox before checking the HTML. The screenshot is of its reading of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_Revolution. It takes into account all ARIA labels, etc., so the structural outline is accurate.

It would be great if the Validator had this facility. It shows where there are gaps in the structures (e.g., missing headings, etc.) and offers suggestions.

Many thanks,
Tom

Hello Tom,

Sorry, CSS HTML Validator does not currently include such a generator.

It is possible that it could be added in a future major update but there does not seem to be enough user desire/demand for it at this point.
