SEO firendly links for forums

Post by rag_gupta »

I find the free forum software like Mybb and Phpbb are difficult & error prone to make changes like this one. I myself have done it. But Site CMS like Joomla and Drupal allow you to do it in single click.

I think you should also make SEO friendly URL's instead of f=6&t=1257 etc. I've done it for Mybb forums (like http://forum.indiaconsumercomplaints.org/Thread-Worst-Dell-customer-care-service) but not yet for Phpbb's.
You can check this link for Phpbb seo urls: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=543997

Yes, I hope they improve that ("SEO friendly" links) for the next version of phpBB. I do wonder how much it helps the search engines though... do you have a link to any SEO studies about it? Thanks!
