How to copy DOM directly from Chrome or other browser

Post by TomHTML »

I've just migrated to a new Win11 machine, and in setting up the validator I've forgotten what settings are required so that I can select the <html> element in the DOM display in Chrome's DevTools and have it immediately be copied into the Validator and validated. This worked on my old setup, but I've forgotten what settings are required in the Validator for this.

Many thanks in advance (and apologies if I've posted this in the wrong part of the forum).

Hi Tom,

Check out the 'Clipboard' options page in the Editor Options. You probably want to enable the 'Watch the clipboard for HTML documents...' option, and may want to set some of the other options as well.

Here is more info:
https://www.htmlvalidator.com/chrome.php

I hope this helps!
