Best domain name registrar

Post by Albert Wiersch »

What company is your favorite domain name registrar?

I used to use GoDaddy but then transferred a lot of my domains to Namecheap. Namecheap is good but I am starting to like namesilo (https://www.namesilo.com/) more and more and plan to transfer domains there as they come up for renewals. Their prices seem to be the best, they don't play "games", and their web interface, while it might look a bit dated, is functional and fast (which is "refreshing" these days).

Feel free to share your thoughts about who you use and how you like them!

Following your post, a few months ago, I've registered a domain with namesilo.com -- no problems.
Now, I'm planning to transfer bulk of my domains to namesilo.com from name.com.

Great. So far I've had no problems with namesilo.com either and also plan to migrate more of my domains to them as they come up for renewal.

I wanted to update this post/thread. I am still using namesilo and have not had any problems with them. I am consolidating all of my domains with them.

I even sold a domain name through them and the commission was only 3% (but can go up to 7.5% I think).

At this point I would highly recommend namesilo.com if you're looking for a domain registrar.

Thanks for this post.

Do they only renew a year at a time or can you pay for multiple years?

Do you have any experience with Domains.com? Comments about them?

Hi Mike,

Funny you should ask. I just renewed some domain names on namesilo.com today (well technically it was yesterday now that it's 00:23 the next day :D ). You can certainly renew for more than one year if you want.

I do not have any experience with Domains.com.

I picked up a couple of things about GoDaddy recently. I haven't examined them in detail, but you might want to look more deeply. (I'm not entirely sure what's going on.)
