HOW TO: Use text selection processing

Post by Albert Wiersch »

Did you know?

You can select text in the editor and select an option from the 'Selection' submenu in the editor's context menu.

For example, do you need to sort some lines? If so then select the lines to sort (or Ctrl+A to sort all lines) and then right-click on the selection and choose an option from the 'Selection > Sort Lines' submenu.

Do you need to URL decode or URL encode some text? If so then select the text to decode or encode and then right-click on the selection and choose 'Selection > Other > URL Decode' or 'Selection > Other > URL Encode'.

Do you want to remove blank lines? Remove tags? Remove double blank lines? Remove duplicate lines? Remove white space at the start and/or end of lines? There are options for those too (and more)!

There are also options to normalize text to Unicode Form C and convert characters to and from character references, as well as options to covert to lowercase and uppercase, and to capitalize the first letter of every word.

More detailed information is available in the documentation page:
