Host Recommendation

Post by Lou »

All,
After I don't know how many years my host for several domains closed down, with only days notice!
I made a quick, poor decision for a replacement!
  • PHP newer than 7.0 not available so can't upgrade phpBB.
  • mail host improperly configured ('we are not responsible for interface to other apps').
  • shared outgoing IP, so my email sometimes is getting blocked.
Does the group have any good hosting suggestions? After 6 week of back and forth I ready for another move.

Hi Lou,

I'm sorry to hear that. What host was it?

I have heard good things about Pair (pair.com) but have not used them myself.

I use a Linode server for htmlvalidator.com and would highly recommend them if you're looking for a Linux host and want to manage your own Linux server.

Here's my Linode referral link in case you are interested:

Hub,org
They were responsive and had a good uptime. Just to small to survive with things like godaddy. had servers in Europe, Canada and Panama. I watched the contraction and should have planned ahead.

Thanks I will check-out Pair
