This property specifies the width of the content area or border area (depending on 'box-sizing') of certain boxes.

Values for "width"

Other (in @viewport)<viewport-length>{1,2}, where <viewport-length> is "auto", "device-width", "device-height", a positive length, or a positive percentage
CSS 2.1a length, a percentage, or "auto"
CSS3"auto | <length> | <percentage> | min-content | max-content | fit-content | fit-content(<length-percentage>)"

Syntax Notes for "width"

  • Negative values are illegal.
