Canada Common Look and Feel 2.0 Checking Options

Enable Canada Common Look and Feel 2.0 Checking - Check this box to enable messages that help you comply with Canada's Common Look and Feel 2.0 Standards for the Internet. Checking this option will result is slightly slower validation times as more processing is required. If clicked to enable and WCAG P1 and P2 checking is not enabled, then a dialog will ask you if you want to enable WCAG P1 and P2 checking. This option is not enabled by default. (New v9.9910)

Filter messages to focus on errors, warnings, and CLF related messages - Check this box to only show errors, warnings, and messages in categories that contain "Common Look and Feel" or "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0". This option should eliminate many messages that are not relevant for CLF checking and allows focusing on the more important messages when checking for CLF issues. This option is not enabled by default. (New v9.9910)

Special Comments (Recommended)

Include these comments in the source file (near the top before the "title" tag) to help determine what type of page is being checked. This information may improve page checking. Use only one special comment to set the page type and only one to set the page language or an error message will be generated. Setting a language also sets $clflangset and setting a page type sets $clfpagetypeset.

Where possible, we recommend that the "xml:lang" attribute be used with the "html" tag to specify the page language instead of using the special comment.

<!--CSECLF_ENGLISHLANG--> - Page language is English (sets $clflangenglish).

<!--CSECLF_FRENCHLANG--> - Page language is French (sets $clflangfrench).

<!--CSECLF20_1COL--> - Page format is one-column (sets $clf1column). [Part 3, R2.2.3]

<!--CSECLF20_CONTACTUSPAGE--> - Page is a "Contact Us" page (sets $clfcontactuspage). [Part 3, R6]

<!--CSECLF20_CONTENTPAGE--> - Page is a normal content page (sets $clfcontentpage). [Part 3, R2]

<!--CSECLF20_IMPORTANTNOTICESPAGE--> - Page is an "Important Notices" page (sets $clfimpnoticespage). [Part 3, R14]

<!--CSECLF20_SERVERMESSAGEPAGE--> - Page is a "Server message" page (sets $clfserverpage). [Part 3, R18]

<!--CSECLF20_WELCOMEPAGE--> - Page is a "Welcome" page (sets $clfwelcomepage). [Part 3, R1]
