Use trim() to strip space characters from the beginning and end of $string

string ltrim(string $string)

Use ltrim() to strip space characters from the beginning of $string

string rtrim(string $string)

Use rtrim() to strip space characters from the end of $string

Applies to all of the above

Does not do anything if $string is not a string (for example, does not do anything if $string is an integer).

"Space characters" are characters defined as space characters in HTML5 (U+0020 SPACE, "tab" (U+0009), "LF" (U+000A), "FF" (U+000C), and "CR" (U+000D)). (New v14.00)

These functions are supported only in CSE HTML Validator v12.0024 and later.
